Elderly Programs

Intergenerational Programs
Lynda started working in the kitchen at aged care homes where her mother was the nurse in charge at the tender age of 12. The elderly are as drawn to her as the children, which makes her a perfect choice to lead intergenerational programs within aged care services. Above is an Integenerational Program that we run each year with the children and educators from Maroondah Preschool who visit the elderly on a regular basis at Donwood Community Aged Care.
Elderly (Dementia) Programs with Elijah

Lynda's son Elijah is a professional musical theatre performer who has appeared in main stage productions of Kinky Boots, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, School of Rock, as Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Who's Tommy, as well as voicing the lead role of Davey in the ABC's children's animation series "Big Words Small Stories". He has been attending Lynda's special sessions for clients with dementia since he was 7 years old as a special guest. Elijah has now taken the reigns as lead presenter of these sessions.
Providing much more than entertainment, these sessions are firmly grounded in cutting edge neuroscience in relation to the constant development of new neural pathways despite brain degeneration. Research has proven over and over the power of music and movement on memory, self-expression, emotional wellbeing and quality of life. A very talented and accomplished singer and dancer who has studied psychology and has lived experience with dementia, having shared care of his maternal grandmother since her dementia diagnosis, Elijah has the same ability as his mother to positively influence and engage people of all ages.
Aged Care Service Directors and Social Support Leaders can book Elijah on a monthly or fortnightly basis to run 1 hour long programs and you can see the transformation in your clients/residents for yourselves.
